Admitting my Goblin
Clutter is my Goblin |
I have been a bit sporadic the last couple of weeks. All over the place with managing my time. I just will have to admit the fact I have not had much time to create new digital pages. Every day I give myself a de-clutter job when I get home from work. So I have been outside cleaning up the yard or going through my garage. I don't know about other people, but my garage is the dumping land of guilty purchases. I heard this rumor that the garage used to be a place to put your car! HAHA!! For me, it is a vast land of boxes. Inside these boxes are the "I dont have time to deal with that now crap". Getting ready for a garage sale, getting items ready for listing on Ebay and Etsy and throwing loads of crap out is exhausting! Oh did I mention I am also getting ready to sell my house? One major reason for the de-clutter my life project. But back to my stuff. Does this stuff multiply like mold on bread or what? How does one acumulate so much stuff? That I can answer for my life. I buy some crafty project thinking I am going to go right home and create a masterpiece. I get home from this hard day of shopping and sit this future masterpiece down to do later. Only later never comes and it never gets done. Then I feel guilty about it and go buy a nice plastic storage container to hide it in so as not to look at my now guilt ridden shopping spree. I then find myself back at the craft store like a moth to the flame buying more stuff for another project thinking maybe just maybe I will complete that project. Which I don't. And when that storage container gets filled up I go buy another container and eventually it all ends up in my garage for a future garage sale. Eventually this project ends up in someone else's cycle of "Oh I will buy that and finish it" which they don't. But at least now it is sitting in their guilt ridden piles not mine.
This digital card was inspired by Colette Baron Reid's latest book "The Map". Reading this book gave me the idea to do corresponding digital cards. Colette is big on The Goblin but I am not sure if this is how she mean't it. This is strictly my interpretation as are all the other cards I plan to share this week from The Map.

It's like.... um
Have you listened to any young people have a conversation lately? It goes something like this "So I was like yeah" and then they were like "Way" and I was like "No way" and she was like "Totally" and I was like "Get out" and at that point you have to check out of listening before you go over and yank each one of their pierced tongues out of their mouths.
I remember the days when I was in school and the word that drove me nuts was "Um". Someone up in front of the class giving a presentation and every other word was "Um". By the time this student was done you needed a nap!
Most people let their fingers do the talking anymore. I have a confession to make. I have never in my life sent a text!! I have no desire too either. What is rare these days is to actually see two people have a conversation under the age of 20. I wonder if our young will soon forget how to have a face to face conversation when these teens finally do become adults? So totally like um it all rather worries me.

What I know for sure
With everything going on lately, I bet we all wish we had a premonition or two so we could feel more prepared for what is ahead. We would worry either way I guess. Worrying about what is to come or freaking out because we know what is ahead yet there is nothing we can do about it.
The only thing I know for sure is that I wake up every morning (so far) and go forward from there. Everyday is a mystery. I have the choice to either make it a good mystery or a nightmare regardless of what is going on around me.

Eat What?
I wonder where the saying "Eat Crow" came from? I hate it. I love crows. If you have not seen the PBS on Crows it is fantastic! I loved Crows before but after watching this special I had a whole new appreciation and admiration for this amazing bird. What is not to love about a species that is smarter than you are? So I say it again. I hate the phrase "Eat Crow" and "Kill two birds with one stone".

Enjoying the Supermoon
This was me Saturday night enjoying the Supermoon. It definately was brighter and it might have seemed a bit bigger. I was hoping for, well I was hoping for a SUPER BIG MOON I guess. One that filled the entire sky. Don't get me wrong I still loved it. I always look up when I go outside at night looking for my moon. I always say a little something to her when I find her. I am a big fan of La Luna.
So here is a little confession. While viewing the Supermoon, I actually didn't put on a pointy hat and I actually don't have a cat. I happened to be in my PJ's letting the dog out for a weewee. But in my mind, I was this gal. ( I pretended to be her anyway.)

Lenormand Oracle Day II
Lenormand "Woman"
A French woman watching the world go by from her balcony.
Lenormand "Woman"
A bit different from the real woman. This little lady is in a French cemetary. It is interesting how she ended up photographing a different color than the rest of the stone around her. That was not photoshopped. Kind of eerie.
Lenormand "Woman"
Completely done in black and white. It is fun to play around. I could not choose so I am sharing all of them.

Happy Barf Day to Me.
Mz. Gobsmack knows my pain. Another year has gone by. Big whoop. The woman in the mirror is yelling "Hey get with the program". Now if I only knew what the program was.

Whatever!!
Have you ever started something and then got side tracked and something completely different gets done? I clean my house like this. I start in one room and before it is all said and done my whole house is tore up. You start in one room find something that needs to be put away and then you open the drawer to put it away and start cleaning out that drawer. Find something in that drawer that doesn't belong and well pretty soon all the drawers are empty and you are in a big pile of mess on the floor asking yourself what in the hell happened? I have found a great way to avoid this mess and it works great!! Don't clean. (Just kidding.) Actually I have to ground myself to only one room. If something doesn't belong it is put at the edge of the door. Not allowed to leave the room to put something away. Works for me.
So basically my house cleaning and card making end up in the same boat. I start one card and before it is all said and done I have eight half finished cards. And that is how this card happened. It kind of threw up out of my brain on complete accident. Maybe that is why she is standing in fire. Secretly I want to torch this card.

Loven my Tarot Cards
I am in complete awe in the beauty of tarot and oracle cards. I love the artwork. I love the way people are able to capture and interpret with their own art into meaning. I love collecting these little pieces of art more than anything. It has become an addiction (passion is a better justification word though). Luckily they do not take up a lot of room or I would once again be in big trouble with my clutter issues. I don't buy every deck I see. The art has to personally speak to me first. But with all the decks being created these days it is not hard to find one (or twenty) you like. I justify it by knowing there are others worse than I am and have hundreds of decks. I am not there yet.
These deck creators have inspired me to play around with designing cards. It really is very enjoyble to see what you can come with. I am limited due to the fact I have no drawing abilities. Which might be a good thing because I probably would drive myself nuts drawing all the time. The most fun for me is dreaming up a card. I can do this anywhere (like at work). Sometimes trying to interpret it into an actual card is a whole different ballgame. (Or should I say card game.) Sometimes they just flat out bomb. I have a lot of those in my digital collections. Half finished stinkers that really never made it off the ground. Hoping for some inspirations to help me do better with them. Not everything is a success. I am alright with that.
Bohemian Gothic Tarot is a darker deck. I have no opinion on what I like more, the darker decks or the fun whimsical decks. They are all amazing to me.
Legacy of the Divine belongs to Ciro Marchetti. His art makes me swoon. What can I say, big tarot crush on his deck. Love love love his work. His new oracle deck soon to be released is on my list. You can even download two of his tarot apps on Itunes. Worth it!!
Deviant Moon. Kind of a naughty, reflecting humorous deep deck. Well loved and explored by many chat rooms. Patrick believes is you want a deck to read for yourself this is the one. The story behind this deck is fascinating. If you would like to know more about Patrick listen to Blogtalk Radio's Tarot Tribe/Beyond World's on March 5th. He was on discussing his deck and how it evolved. Fascinating show. Well actually all her shows are pretty darn fantastic. You just need to listen to Donnaleigh every week in my opinion.
Tarot of the Trees is a pretty deck. Beautiful imaginative cards.
Hezico Tarot from the UK is a terrificly drawn deck. I really love this deck. Again Mary was on Beyond Worlds/Tarot Tribe. A fun listen to learn more about this deck. I am not sure but this deck might be sold out. She self published and I ended up buying another deck from her just in case.
This is just a teeny tiny smattering of my decks. Yep this is my new clutter crazy love. I will share more cards from different decks in the coming weeks. Including some of my beautiful Fairy Oracle Decks. Love them!!

I Would Like You to Meet Her
Please meet my latest altar ego and newest addition to Faux Tarot, Mz. Gobsmack. She is going to start popping up on a weekly basis putting in her two cents worth. She will never look the same and sometimes she won't even take human form. Please be aware that Mz. Gobsmack can be opinionated and gives as good as she gets. One of these days Mz. Gobsmack might even meet Happy Wabbit. Hopefully she will be nice but not likely.

Gearing up for Mardi Gras
My daughter asked me to come up with some flyer ideas for her Mardi Gras party. Well she didn't have to ask me twice. I came up with all kinds of flyers. I am showing you a few throughout the week. They do not have the party information she asked me to add for her privacy sake but I can at least show you some of my nutty ideas.
That is probably enough for today. Don't want to bore you to death.
