This is what I am choosing to call my book of herbal recipes or spells. It can sit on the book shelf without bringing much attention. But inside just won't be your granny's homemade pie recipes. Although mine will.

Fun with Words
A few years back I went through all my baby and growing up photos and then went through all my daughters baby and growing up pics and found out that I ended up taking many of the same style pics that were taken of me at the same age. I had no idea of course I was doing this at the time because I really don't look at my pics all that often. The parallels were spooky actually. So I thought this would make for an amazing scrap album. Side by side I put her age appropriate pics next to mine. The album took hours to do but I love the way it came out. Here are a few of the word art pages that I included in the album. These took as long to do as a photo page. Lining and sizing words are a huge effort. But worth the results.
I certainly would not bore you with pages from this album since I realize the only importance of it is family. But just to give you an example of similarities I am sharing this page. I changed some of her color pics to black and white in order to make them seem even more similar to mine. I put this album together as a Christmas Gift.

Wordart
A good example of an older piece I did. Needs finishing when I look at it now. Charms just don't hang in mid air!
So I need to put this on my "to do" list. Which is why I am sharing an old piece today. My list is so long lately I have had no had time to do my favorite thing which is creating cards. I listed my house for sale which brings a whole new "I need to fix that" list. Funny how you can live with things for years but fix it for someone else to enjoy. And with packing things away so the house looks less cluttered you find all these things you no longer use and decide to let go of. Hence the long list on the Etsy and Ebay shop. Oh and then yet one more garage sale to get ready for in the next couple of weeks. Lets add the fact my daughter moved out of the country with just a couple suit cases just a few days ago, so we have to eliminate her stuff too. The lists keeping getting longer for some reason. So how is it when trying to simplify ones life it creates wayyyyy more havic?

My Wish for All
The word art is fun to do but time consuming. Wouldn't it be nice if we all could have a bit of Prosperity? Maybe I need to do a card on Challenges and Obstacles. But I think we all should focus on prosperity not more obstacles.

Honey Jars
Honey Jar Spells are very interesting. I like to listen to the Lucky Mojo Podcasts from time to time and often they will talk about doing a Honey Jar Spell. You know how I feel about bees and honey anyway. Speaking of which I recently added to my collection of Bee Pins a beauty from a designer called d Stevens. Beautiful design, color and craftsmanship. I will have to photo the pin and post soon. She is in the latest Somerset Studio magazine called "Where Woman Create". If you have never heard of this magazine I highly recommend it. Absolutely beautiful issues.

Joy Rising
I heard Oprah say this phrase the other day and I just loved it and wanted to use it on a card. I may use it again.

Who's the Fool?
I wonder if the Fool in the tarot is kind of like falling down the rabbit hole? A big leap of faith. Hopefully you finally reach the bottom and don't get to injured from the fall. Maybe others see it as hitting rock bottom.
If you are interested in this concept I am going to recommend a movie to rent. If you have a curiosity about that rabbit hole besides Alice in Wonderland, check out "What the Bleep..?" I really liked this movie. It is part movie with actress Marly Matlin and part documentary interview style with some very interesting scientists. I am warning you though, these people think way outside the box. So it is a movie you have to pay attention too when watching. You can't be doing your laundry, texting and watching your children and get anything out of it. I rented it from my local video store for .50. So I rent it every once in a while and watch it again. If you are in the mood for a trip down the rabbit hole, give yourself an odd movie experience and rent it.

What I know for sure
With everything going on lately, I bet we all wish we had a premonition or two so we could feel more prepared for what is ahead. We would worry either way I guess. Worrying about what is to come or freaking out because we know what is ahead yet there is nothing we can do about it.
The only thing I know for sure is that I wake up every morning (so far) and go forward from there. Everyday is a mystery. I have the choice to either make it a good mystery or a nightmare regardless of what is going on around me.

Swallowed Up.......by Stuff
I got a chuckle last week when I read that Oprah is letting go of her clutter. When she gets too much stuff she can just go buy another house to put it in. But can you imagine all the things people give her? What do you do with it all?
I have seriously been working on my clutter disease for several years. I call it Dis-ease because of the way it makes me feel - uneasy, swallowed up, heavy, unable to breathe. I once loved all this stuff. I collected so proudly and loved each and every piece I bought. I would proudly display these items. I lived in a fairly good sized house with an attic and basement and had room to store and exchange things for holidays. I kept buying craft stuff, knick knack stuff, flea market items, magazines and books by the hundreds. When I had the Tea Room and Gift Shop it was like heaven getting more stuff. From my past I need to include items from the floral business, a millinery business, horse business and hobbies by the hundreds. When closing the Tea Room I had to make room for the items that we did not sell. I sold my house and moved into a house less than half the size. When Grandma died I had to make room for some of her things. And that is when I realized, enough was enough. It had to go. So with donations, two flea market booths, EBay and garage sale after garage sale, the items have ever so slowly been going to new homes. Letting some of my things go was hard. Have I ever regretted something I let go? I might have but I don't remember now. Am I cured of buy- it- itis? No. I still go to Hobby Lobby and drool over all the cute items they try to tempt me with. I still fight my knick knack disease. But I am getting better. If I feel the need to buy, I watch an episode of Hoarders or Peter Walsh on Oprah's network and then I am brought back to reality. Of course then I can justify "Oh I was not that bad". I still pick up a decorating magazine and look through the pages of the woman who have the most incredible homes chock full off gorgeous knick knacks and I am still very drawn to it all. I just have to leave it in those pages, to those woman who display there lovely things with finesse. I let my twinge of knick knack envy go and head off to listing more EBay items. Don't feel sorry for me. I'll get over it. I hope.

TMI
Are you an enchanting charismatic person? Are people drawn to you? Do you ooze mystery? Would you like too? These days people seem to be an open book. We put it all out there on our social networks and don't leave much to the imagination. Those three initials TMI come to mind. There seems to be a lot of TMI going on these days, and I am not just talking about Facebook and Twitter. Some like to tell you their life story in the grocery store line. We have become voyeurs in every body's business. Are we spilling WWTMI? (Way Way Too Much Information.) Where did the mystery and intrigue (and perhaps a bit of privacy) about us go? I was watching an old black and white movie a few days ago and I found myself drawn to how enchanting, charismatic and mysterious the actors were. They drew you in with little effort. Maybe it was because we didn't know every little detail of their lives. I rather enjoyed it.
Just throwing some thoughts out for the day.
