Ice Storm

And then last December the ice storm hit. So much for all that work.

My Courtyard

After working on the front yard I moved to the small back patio area I have that is seperate from the bigger back yard. I painted the fence, back of the house and started planting. My end result is almost done. I still have not finished the area around the fountain with stepping stones and small pebbles. It is on my some day list. The thought of wheel barreling loads of stepping stones back there has kind of put it on the backburner. Oh well, it is in the some day list.

My Front Yard

After painting the front door blue and the porch white, I added some gingerbread around the top of the porch and some old shutters that came off my moms house. We painted the shutters the same color as the front door. I then added the arbor, picket fence, front border by house, tree ring and planted lots and lots of lillys in front. The rose beds are behind the picket fence. The drainage in my yard is very poor and I am on my third set of roses in those beds. The nice thing about lilies, they can take extreme wet and extreme dry. The house took on a cottage look and took a couple of years.

The Beginnings of my house

Seven years ago I bought this tiny 1950's house. It was "For Sale by Owner "and it took me a couple of weeks to call on for an appointment. It has a good sized yard and the house itself might be a little over 1000 sq. feet. The currant owners had been there 17 years and kept the home in really good shape. So I made an offer and bought the house. I could envision my ideas for the front yard although no one else seemed to share in that vision. I immediately started with the rose bed out front. Oh and I painted the front door blue. The house really had no curb appeal but things were about to change.

Welcome to "Mojo in my Soul". As I start this new blog adventure I had to ask myself what my intention was for this new exciting online journey. I have had some great life experiences I plan to share along the way. Hoping to boost some new creativity. As of late I find myself a bit stagnant. Those old creative juices seem to have disappeared. Now that I can no longer use the "no time to start anything new" excuse, I seem to have lost my "Mojo". So my intention in this journey is to find out once again "What puts honey in my heart" and I hope to make some new friends along the way.

In the coming days and months I plan to share my many past lives. Including: my wedding flower business, Horse Drawn Carriage business, owning a Tea Room, self publishing a book, making bridal millinery, inventing a tool to work with Chocolate, being a makeup artist, showing horses and a few things that are escaping my memory right now. See what I mean? I have been one lucky girl!!

So my question to you is "What put's honey in your heart?" Are you fortunate to have the answer to that question? If not, maybe you too can go on your own journey and find your answers.
